Been to a grocery store lately?

Does your mouth start to water when you pass aisle after aisle of?.

-Potato chips
-Pop tarts
-Ice cream
-Cookies
-Fresh baked pastries

Mmmmm?I can almost taste it right here from my computer.

How does that fit into your fitness plan, or your weight loss diet plan?

Gooey chocolate chip cookies, devil?s food cakes, ultra high sugar cereals?all washed down with your favorite carbonated beverage.

Uh oh, there goes your weight loss diet plan.

Ok, I?m getting off track here?.and so is your fitness plan.

Whatever.

Let?s focus and regroup.

Here?s a challenge for you (pay attention, this is a good start to a weight loss diet plan)?

Next time you go to the grocery store, put 10 healthy things that will help achieve your overall fitness plan and your weight loss diet plan in your cart before you put 1 unhealthy thing.

Yep, you heard right.

It?s not only a challenge, but this should be the way (now and always) you grocery shop for you and your family.

For every 10 things for your fitness plan?.you are allowed 1 ?treat?.

So, for example?you could put things in your cart like:

-Oatmeal
-Assorted fruits and vegetables
-Lean meats (chicken, beef, some kinds of fish, etc.)
-Whole grains
-Low fat yogurt (no sugar added)

Then?..after 10 of these items that help you achieve your weight loss diet plan?.you can go ahead and ?treat? yourself to one of those high calorie, ?fat in the box? cookies??.if you so desire.

But here?s a little secret?

A shocking, little-known, secret that will keep you on your fitness plan like glue?

You think you can handle it?

Ok, here goes?

After you start CONSISTENTLY buying and eating healthier foods?you will no longer be interested in those ?treats??which will eventually do nothing but make you feel bad?but you WILL BE HAPPY about your newly found self-esteem, and your body will be very thankful?it may sound hard to believe right now?but it?s true?.very true.

Why?

Because you are CONSISTENTLY conditioning yourself to eat healthier foods and following your fitness plan and staying on top of your weight loss diet plan?and your body is responding to it?

Better yet, your body is EXPECTING it.

I remember when I was back in college and when I was eating very healthy and working out like a champ, I was following my fitness plan to a ?T??

I was doing this very consistently for a good while?then, one night I went out to dinner with some friends.

Didn?t really think about how I had been eating lately (very healthy) and ordered myself a nice juicy, fatty hamburger and fries.

Well, about a ? hour later, after my stomach kept asking me ?What in the world is this in here???I became very familiar with the bathroom for a little while.

Onward.

Ok, I didn?t tell you that story to make you scared of eating hamburgers, or say that you can never, ever, ever eat anything you want or crave?

But be smart.

Use your common sense.

Follow your fitness plan.

Stay on your weight loss diet plan.

Eating Twinkies will never help you lose the fat off your body.

Neither will the candy bars.

Or the?.

Well, you get the picture.

So?realize that it all STARTS at your local grocer.

And if you follow my advice, you can make sure it doesn?t END on your waistline.

8 Steps To Improve The Health Of Your Reia Group

After months of declining sales from national gurus at their general meetings, low attendance at weekend boot camps, and waning interest in real estate investing compared to a few years ago, it may be time for REIA board members to re-evaluate their business models. After all, one of their primary responsibilities as board members is to make sure their REIA stays solvent and can weather economic downturns without going bankrupt. (How would you short sell a REIA Group?)


Some disturbing trends affecting the real estate market are apparent:


1. Bad news and loan losses in the billions of dollars will continue to be banner headlines as even foreign banks are "bad news" stories directly impacted by US loans gone bad.


2. Foreclosures are increasing by leaps and bounds, especially in states that had huge run ups in appreciation over the last few years.


3. More and more stories are available across every news channel about the "R" word...Recession. Lack of job growth, international competition, inflation pressures, health care costs, and immigration concerns are all starting to peak out behind the political landscape of a presidential election.


4. And locally, fewer people are interested in joining the "get rich in real estate" craze of just a few years ago.


So what's a REIA board member to do? Here are 8 Steps to ensure the health of your REIA.


1. Re-evaluate your mission statement. Typically two things happen over time. Groups will drift away from actions that implement their mission statement or the mission statement isn't supported with manageable and measurable goals. The old adage, "You can't manage what you can't measure" is still true today.


2. Enlist new members to invigorate the board. New blood can bring new life to an organization. Many times the ruts people get into prohibit their "seeing the forest for the trees" and they get bogged down in the details of running a REIA versus leading a REIA.


3. Determine measurable goals, strategies and tactics. Determine what will work in today's environment of high tech gadgets, unprecedented reach through communication options, and software solutions to meet the needs of your membership. After all, that is why most REIA groups exist....to serve their membership in one or more ways.


4. Be positive. Provide a positive outlook around the membership. Is the glass half full or half empty? Attitude matters and it always will. Provide leadership with a positive outlook in public and in private.


5. Be active. Board members that are not active investors miss out on the struggles, opportunities and pitfalls of investing in today's market. Opportunities abound in chaos and the Good Lord knows we have some chaos in the real estate markets now. Take advantage of it.


6. Be supportive. Show up to some of the small group meetings, answer questions, and provide encouragement, especially to new members. They are the life blood to any group.


7. Ask for help and then accept it. No man or woman can do it all. Micromanagement can be the bane of a REIA group. Who wants to get involved and then be told every little step to take and how to take it? Trust your people, provide them boundaries and direction, supply them resources to be successful and encourage their participation toward an outcome.


8. Promote the benefits of the REIA. Sell people on what you have to offer. Examine the value of being a member of your group and then communicate these benefits to your existing members, which will improve the turnover rate. Also make sure to communicate these benefits to prospective and brand new members, who will replace the non-renewing members and grow the REIA. Long term stagnation of the membership is not a good sign. Be proactive and make sure the value of membership is there and that the members understand it.

Platelets play a pivotal role in the relationship between lipids and atherogenesis. Blood platelets are powerful biochemical packages wrapped in a phospholipid membrane. When platelets in the circulation are exposed to broken endothelial tissue lining blood vessels and underlying collagen. they become activated to stimulate the healing of the injury.

The arachidonic acid within the platelet forms two different eicosanoids, which serve two opposing functions. If the platelet is next to another platelet, thromboxane (TXA2) is formed (500 million platelets can form as much as 2 mg of thromboxane) which stimulates the aggregation and clotting of platelets and other blood components.7 For those platelets near the endothelium, prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) is formed which stimulates hyperplasia in the exposed blood vessel tissue and inhibits further clotting adjacent to the injury. Prostaglandins also stimulate bone resorption bringing calcium to the site of the injury to decrease tissue pH and further stimulate hyperplasia.

These are normal mechanisms occurring continually and are essential to life. If they did not occur, minor vascular lesions could lead to runaway hemorrhage, and healing and repair would not happen. However, when there is an excess of omega-6 fatty acids in platelets which can generate excess amounts of arachidonic acid at blood vessel injury sites, the blood clotting, vessel constricting, bone resorbing, and hyperplastic effects can exceed the countering moderating effects of prostaglandins from fatty acids such as the omega-3's.
